Foreshore

In Foreshore, I capture the border where rock confronts the elements. The density of the mineral masses, revealed through inks, stands in contrast to the impermanence of air and water. Through fluid acrylic washes, a dramatic sky sweeps across the horizon. In the distance, red beacons rise as fragile landmarks against the immensity.

Painting is a journey through matter. On the canvas, now a living territory, the palette knife cuts and the brush caresses. Here, I question the mineral, an embodiment of geological time and resilience. An intimate parallel unfolds : just as rock is eroded by water, humans are shaped by their emotions. Stone anchors what endures, while the spontaneous gesture released into the sky expresses the ephemeral, translating what moves through me in the moment. Progressing through layers of sedimentation and transparency, I turn chance into an ally, finding balance at the edge of emergence and resistance.
