Etching

Engraving is, for me, a space of focus and experimentation.

I work in intaglio printmaking — drypoint, etching and aquatint — on copper or zinc plates, techniques that allow me to explore line, depth and tonal values. The engraved mark becomes an imprint, sometimes fragile, sometimes assertive, always alive.

Rooted in my origins in Brittany, the presence of the mineral runs through my work. It evokes time, memory and what endures. Each print is the result of a handcrafted process in which variation and accident are an integral part of creation. Every impression is therefore unique, despite the repetition of the gesture.

I present here a selection of works. Prints vary according to paper and ink.

My paintings and etchings are available for purchase. Please contact me for more details.

Constellation #1

Paper size: 70 × 50 cm
Technique: Etching and aquatint on 11 plates

Cut out one by one, these copper plates are engraved mainly using intaglio, aquatint, and etching techniques. In a quest for texture, these mineral shapes are freely assembled. The inking and composition vary with each print. Deep blacks, textured grays, and white spaces create constantly renewed balances. Between stone and sign, matter and space, these Constellations explore the invisible relationships that unite forms. Each print is unique: a variation on the same mineral vocabulary, a geography in motion.
