Etching

Engraving is, for me, a space of focus and experimentation.

I work in intaglio printmaking — drypoint, etching and aquatint — on copper or zinc plates, techniques that allow me to explore line, depth and tonal values. The engraved mark becomes an imprint, sometimes fragile, sometimes assertive, always alive.

My prints exist at the boundary between the human figure and nature. Faces and presences enter into dialogue with mineral or vegetal landscapes: rocks, earth, organic forms. These two worlds echo and nourish one another.

Rooted in my origins in Brittany, the presence of the mineral runs through my work. It evokes time, memory and what endures. Each print is the result of a handcrafted process in which variation and accident are an integral part of creation. Every impression is therefore unique, despite the repetition of the gesture.

I present here a selection of works. Prints vary according to paper and ink.

My paintings and etchings are available for purchase. Please contact me for more details.
